The specifications for the forthcoming new mobile phone, the successor to the Samsung Armani, the surprisingly monikered Armani 2, have been unveiled.
The Samsung Armani 2, which will also be known as the B7620, will, according to the Bluetooth SIG website, not arrive with the promised Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. At least, not initially. It will appear with Windows Mobile 6.1, instead. However, reports say that the new version of the Microsoft operating system will be retro-fitted when the software becomes available.
Specifications for the new design include a processor running 800Mhz plus a dedicated graphics chip. A video player promises to play a wide variety of formats including: DivX, XviD, MPEG4, 3gp, H.263 and H.264. Other hardware includes a business card scanner.
Location finding will be handled via A-GPS. You also get Wi-Fi, a stereo FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth and a music player.
A release date, price and distribution details are still to be released.
