Samsung has released a new mobile phone into Europe that targets the Green market. No, not the Blue Earth but the S3030 Eco which has initially been launched into Holland via T-Mobile, priced at €89.95 on pre-pay, according to the Gadgetfolder website.
For those who might see the design as looking vaguely familiar, you'll be pleased to know that you're not going barmy - Samsung has remade an older design, the S3030 Tobi slider which was announced back in November 2008 as a phone for youngsters.
The new S3030's Green credentials include a chassis made out of bio-plastic, while the design does not include any BFR (brominated flame retardants) and PVC. Even its charger is Green and eco-friendly (a popular trend at the moment) and the packaging is made from 100% recyclable materials.
Other features include a MP3 player, FM radio, 1.3-megapixel camera and microSD support up to 8GB of memory.
There has been no official announcement regarding its availability or price in other European countries including the UK.
