O2 is extending its Mobile Broadband Service by offering an upgrade to its Connection Manager software that takes effect for existing customers today. The upgrade will automatically copy existing Wi-Fi profiles from a customer's laptop into Connection Manager, meaning customers will be automatically connected to their home or business broadband wireless networks, with no need to enter passwords or security codes. What's more Connection Manager will alert you when you have used up 75%, 90% and 100% of your data allowance.
O2 has also announced that they have agreed to a partnership with BT Openzone to allow their customers access to any of the 3,000 hotspots across the UK, which includes most Starbucks. Existing customers can take advantage of this upgrade today, while new O2 customers will have to wait until the end of July.
