News from the East: Samsung shows off new QWERTY touch-screen

So it turns out that Samsung Louvre phone we rumoured about on Friday is a go, at least over in Asia. Samsung Korea has just announced the B7610, an Omnia-esque touch-screen with a slide-out QWERTY, Samsung's TouchWiz widgety user interface and all the office apps you can shake a spreadsheet at.

According to Akihabara News, the B7610 (bottom left in picture) features a super-bright (and standard for Samsung these days) 3.5-inch AMOLED touch-screen at WVGA resolution, a 5.1-megapixel snapper, 1GB internal, a TV out port, plus your usual Wi-Fi, GPS, and FM radio fixings.

The phone was sitting pretty in a girls-holding-phones display that included the soon to launch 12-meg monster, Pixon12, the cutely named Jackie B7320 and Samsung's first Android phone, the I7500 which, as we reported, is an internet-friendly handset expected to launch in France and Germany this summer.
