Samsung I8000 Omnia2 debuts

It's been churned about the rumour mill for some time now, but finally we have some specs to cast an eye over. The Samsung I8000 Omnia2 looks set to be one powerhouse of a phone, with GSM Arena claiming it will sport a gigantic 3.7-inch WVGA TFT resistive touch-screen, eight-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and VGA video recording abilities of up to 30 frames per second. As with the original Samsung Omnia, the Omnia2 will run on a Windows Mobile operating system, most likely to be version 6.1. Other features include DivX/XViD video support, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G support (though we'd be surprised if it didn't also have the quicker HSDPA data connection).

The original Samsung Omnia received mixed reviews, so the Korean manufacturer will be hoping for a more positive response. Interestingly enough, the Samsung i8910 HD was originally touted as the Samsung Omnia HD, but they have now distanced this much hyped handset from the Omnia range.
