Do you find that you often lose your phone? Do your young children hide it behind the sofa? Does the dog take it for walkies? Now you will be able to find it wherever it is with the featured Find My iPhone utility that will appear in the new, version 3.0, operating system upgrade.
In addition to the unveiling of the new iPhone 3GS mobile phone, Apple also took the opportunity to take another look at the company's major operating system upgrade for the handset to version 3.0. Details are comparatively sketchy but what we do know is that the Find My iPhone feature is available via the MobileMe account where your missing iPhone will be visible on a map, said the Gizmodo website. The facility will also send a message to the phone and force it to play a sound - even if it's in silent mode.
If you think that your iPhone is in 'harm's way', you can also access the Remote Wipe option and command the iPhone to delete all data on the handset which will re-set the phone to the initial factory settings.
