Following up our early news of the Acer F1 smartphone, which is part of a wider array of Acer mobile releases, the F1 phone has now been spotted at the Computex 2009 show where many of its proposed, high-end specifications have now been confirmed.
The F1, which is undoubtedly a code-name so expect a new brand name to be applied soon, appeared to be running the new version of Windows Mobile, version 6.5, displayed on a large, 3.8in, TFT touchscreen packing in 480 x 800 pixels, according to the Ubergizmo website.
Other features of the new phone include fast data transfer facility via HSDPA running at 7.2Mbps, GPS for location finding, WiFi for long range wireless connections to the Internet and a built-in camera which runs at a very respectable 5-megapixels plus a LED flash. Entertainment is supplied via a FM radio and a 3.5mm headphone port.
Expect a September release date. No information has been received regarding price, however.
