Sony Ericsson has only just announced the launch of the Aino and the Yari but now there are further rumours of the proposed sequel to the Xperia X1 which were initially featured here. To be known as the Xperia X2 and apparently code-named as Vulcan by the company's in-house design team, the new design has become the subject of a leaked photograph.
Just how representative this image is of the new phone in open to question. It could, as the Engadget website says, be an early prototype or even a composite mock-up. However, one of the most intriguing aspects of the image is the X panel button on the lower left of the front of the phone and the Windows key on the upper left which would indicate that the new design is to be based on the Windows Mobile operating system. Presumably the latest version, 6.5. The company itself has offered no further details.
