Sony Ericsson's top of the line camera phone, the IDOU, will now be known as the Satio when it is released in the final quarter of this year. The handset, which was revealed in February, will be released alongside the Aino and Yari phones.
The stylish Satio handset is packed to the gills with photographic features in addition to its headline 12-megapixel specification. It will include autofocus, touch focus, a xenon flash, a LED flash for videos plus face/smile detection and geotagging.
Based upon the Symbian S60 5th Edition operating system (which is also used in the Nokia 5800 or Nokia N97 phones), the Satio features a large TFT touch-screen spanning 3.5 inches and packing in 360x640 pixels and 16 million colours.
Other highlights include fast data transfer via HSDPA at 2100 MHz plus gesture screen control, A-GPS for location fixing, Wi-Fi with DLNA and a VGA camera for video calls.
The price of the Satio is unknown at this time but the chassis will be available in three colours: black, bordeaux and silver.
