Samsung, which is performing relatively well in these troubled times, has released news of another new handset, via official press photos, sporting an advanced AMOLED screen. However, the handset has yet to receive an official announcement from the company. To be known as the Samsung S5050, the new mobile, which was first spotted in February, bears some resemblance to the S5200 which is about to be released in Europe. The differences between the two includes the S5050's better AMOLED screen and the fact that the S5200 is QVGA-based whilst the S5050 offers a TFT resolution, according to the Ubergizmo website.
Other specifications for the S5050, which spans 105 x 49 x 14.6 mm and weighs in at 102g, includes Bluetooth 2.0 with ASDP for wireless connections, entertainment via FM radio plus RDS, a built in 3.2-megapixel camera, 40MB of internal RAM with a microSD facility to expand that to 8GB.
A UK release date has still to be announced but phone will apparently retail for around €168 in Europe.
