Vodafone keeps Northern Rail posted

Customers travelling on Northern Rail will now be able to blame Vodafone for their conductors not knowing why their train is running late. As part of a new partnership between the operator and the train company over 1,000 train conductors working across 2,600 daily train services will receive up-to-date information and access to live departure boards via their BlackBerry delivered by Vodafone.


The announcement follows a 12-month pilot scheme, but this will now grow to serve the 15 million customers who use Northern Rail every year.
