It's had more false starts than an Olympic 100 metre final, but a new potential launch date for the much touted Palm Pre has come to our attention.
The folks over at Boy Genius Report have got hold of what appears to be a leaked document that suggests the Palm team are meeting for a 'launch lunch' on Friday 5 June. Now, although this looks like an internal meeting, it would be fair to say that the official launch would soon follow, perhaps later that day or over that weekend.
The Palm Pre has heavily been lauded as a genuine 'iPhone killer', and with a feature list that will supposedly include Wi-Fi, GPS, a three-megapixel camera, 8GB of internal memory, a 3.5mm headphone socket, HSDPA data transfer, IM, MMS and SMS messaging, it's easy to see why. Rumour is also rife that the handset will provide access to a new application store, the App Catalog.
