Sony Ericsson's new W995 phone, which was announced in February, has reached the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), the final stage of testing before a final launch into the market.
With a 3.5mm audio jack and a bundled 8GB M2 memory card, the W995 might attract an array of music fans but it is also a dedicated camera. As such, this is where the new W995 will really shine with a high-spec camera of 8-megapixels with auto-focus and flash plus the associated Cyber-shot apps of photo fix, face detection and picture/video blogging.
The phone will also include a 2.6-inch QVGA scratch-resistant screen plus aGPS for location finding and WiFi for long distant Internet connection.
A final release date and price for the UK market has yet to be annnounced but there are reports that, despite testing by the US-based FCC, this phone will only be released into European territories.
