UK entertainment recommendation site Qype just launched a new version of Radar, a location-based mobile app for Android and iPhone that allows readers to find the best places near them, as well as write real-time reviews and upload photos.
Qype (and Radar) covers a rather crazy one million-plus reviews of restaurants, bars, shops, hotels and various nightlife type places, and users will be able to link to their Qype account.
The best feature is of course its location-based capabilities - you'll be able to search for the top-rated places nearest to you, and get directions from where you are - but what's also cool is the Twitter-esque potential to post food/drink/club/shop reviews as you go.
V2 is available free from the week starting Apr 20, at www.qype.co.uk/qype-radar.
Another cool location-based app we like: FourSquare for iPhone with more OS compatibility to come, and for some good Android apps, check out our top five Android apps.
