Reports have emerged that Research In Motion (RIM), creators of the current Blackberry Storm mobile phone, is finalising the design of a next generation Storm handset to be known, reasonably enough, as the Storm 2.
Confirmation of the future launch was revealed by Alain Segond von Banchet, Channel Sales manager for RIM in Holland. He discussed the new mobile during the TeleVisie 2009 Expo show in that country and confirmed that the Storm 2 would feature a new, improved, input method, according to the BGR website. Other sources have said that the new handset will also include WiFi.
The final release date for the Storm 2 has been mooted from anywhere between late this year to early next whilst other sources seem to have settled upon September as a likely launch date.
The stage is now set for a grand tussle between the next generation iPhone and the new Storm 2.
