The much-anticipated uber internet phone N97 from Nokia will no longer cost more than £500, according to Mobile Today.
Nokia has been in talks with its operator buyers, who apparently had been told in January the device would be sold for way over half a grand. Now, it'll be some ways below that, but still ‘eye-watering', according to one operator.
The device will feature the BBC iPlayer service as on the top-notch media phone, Nokia's N96, and with more "new, clever, fun and interesting applications". What, no boring, uninspired and just plain retarded apps?
Anyway, despite its hefty price tag, mobile analysts are expecting all the operators to grab the N97 because everyone's going to be wanting the device when it finally launches, rumoured to be this June. Some may have to swallow their pride after February's Skype debacle.
