Samsung announces Instinct mobile phone

In addition to the recently leaked news regarding a selection of new touchscreen handsets, Samsung has released another new touchscreen mobile phone which, whilst not claiming to be an iPhone-killer, does, nevertheless, feature a range of iPhone-like facilities which will be attractive to many.

The Instinct offers a snappy, responsive interface with a range of pop-up option screens. Notable specifics include a personal call history for each of your contacts plus a visual voice mail. The interface also features a Favourites screen where you can add your favourite interface buttons.

The included web browser also includes a range of included apps including weather, news and sport whilst the photo application provides a finger-flicking option to scroll through them in a Coverflow manner, according to the Gizmodo website. The featured camera, incidentally, is a low-specification 2-megapixel model.

The handset also accepts voice commands. Other utilities include GPS and an on-screen keyboard that can be used in landscape mode plus a music and video player.

There are currently no details regarding UK price or distribution.
