Motorola i856 iDEN mobile phone spotted

We recently revealed the forthcoming release of the Motorola i486 iDEN phone that is to be supplied with a full QWERTY keyboard. Now, another mobile phone to be featured in the iDEN range has been spotted - even though it is via a rather shaky image. The i856 handset does not, in comparison, feature a QWERTY keyboard but does arrive in a sliding chassis, according to the Engadget website.

There is not a great deal of information available on the internal features except to say that the phone will include a 2.2 inch display and will also feature Bluetooth 2.0 to allow the short range wireless connection of associated accessories such as a headset. The i856 will also feature a 1.3-megapixel camera, not a terrific specification. The internal memory will be enhanced via the inclusion of a microSD card slot, however. The phone will also feature Push To Talk capabilities.

Prices details will follow but the phone will be releaed in Spring. No UK details were available.
