Motorola movie download store closed

It's been a difficult twelve months for Motorola and things don't look like improving anytime soon with the announcement that its UK movie download store no longer exists. According to New Age Media, although this news has only just broken, it in fact shut down at the beginning of this year, just six months after it started. The service allowed users to download films from 40 Paramount titles to a PC, before side loading them to a Motorola device, such as the film-heavy MOTO Z10. Titles were available at cost of between £5.99 and £8.99.

One manufacturer who will be hoping to fair far better with their own mobile movie download service is Samsung. The Korean giants last week announced Samsung Movies, where customers can hire one of 500 titles from the likes of Warner Brothers, Paramount, Universal and Momentum Pictures at a cost of £2.49 for a 24-hour rental or £4.99 to own. Of course Samsung has been having a far better time of things than Motorola, with the likes of the Tocco Ultra Edition sure to benefit from Samsung Movies.
