It's like Big Brother if he was nice, and gave out free stuff. T-Mobile are starting a new campaign - walk past a T-Mobile store, and if your phone's Bluetooth is turned on, it'll register with the store and you'll receive a text message offering gifts and promos.
It's known as ‘proximity marketing', with Bluetooth tags installed in six T-Mobile stores that then send out invites to pick up gifts and promotional offers to passing customers with Bluetooth-enabled phones.
Get an invite, step in the store and you'll get more info. According to T-Mobile, the promise of free swag has already resulted in more people stepping in-store and more sales. The trial lasts for a month, and may go nationwide.
