T-Mobile brings push email to the masses

T-Mobile has launched a new service called Instant Email that provides up to date access for up to five personal email accounts. It means customers will be immediately alerted as soon as they receive an email to their Gmail or Hotmail accounts for example, without the need for logging onto the internet. The service is available from today for a rolling monthly plan of £3.50 a month, with the first month absolutely free.

The operator claims that Instant Email will make printing out reference emails and ticket confirmations a thing of the past as customers will have easy and immediate access to their accounts. Should customers go abroad, they will be asked whether they want to continue with the service as additional costs may arise.

Although T-Mobile's Instant Email service will initially only be available on Nokia devices, the operator says that they hope it will soon be available on other handsets.
