Leaks have revealed news of future mobile phone releases via HTC, in addition to the newly announced HTC Magic and the leaked Maple smartphone. The Whitestone and Firestone handsets are set to be released during 2009.
The HTC Firestone will be a GSM / 3G mobile phone that is targeted to succeed the Touch HD. Including a 3.6-inch WVGA screen, this phone will include a powerful, eight-megapixel camera, and a 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM package. Powered by a powerful Qualcomm 8250 processor running at 600MHz, this new phone is slated to be run by the recently announced Windows Mobile 6.5 software. Observers say that the Firestone will be released in August of this year.
The HTC Whitestone is due to be released in September. Reports say that it will include a 3.6-inch WVGA screen along with a five-megapixel camera. Arriving with an internal memory of 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM, the GSM / EVDO mobile will run on top of Windows Mobile 6.1 and will be powered by a Qualcomm 7600 CPU running at 528MHz.
