More security for stolen smartphones

Security apps, ho. In recognition of the fact that everyone's walking around with a tiny PC worth hundreds in their pockets, more anti-theft software has been launched, this time for BlackBerrys and handsets running Windows Mobile 5 and 6.

Computrace Mobile allows owners to track handsets over GPS and shows the location of your erstwhile phone on Google Maps. If your Berry was stolen, developers of the software, Absolute Software, partners with the police to track and delete data from the stolen device.

The software comes at £12.95 for a one-year subscription.
