Nokia announced the forthcoming release of the 8208 mobile phone last July. It has now formally announced that the handset will hit the high street before the end of March.
A dual-sliding CDMA configuration, the new handset is ideal for those looking to store large amounts of data such as music, videos or images as it has a large internal capacity, with an external memory slot that can hold up to 16GB of information.
Nokia Senior Vice President of CDMA Devices Larry Paulson said: 'We instinctively wanted to carry out a very modern look and feel in the design of our new devices and to bring consumers a wide range of features.
He added: 'Consumers want devices that are beautiful to look at and reflect their individuality, but also have the functionality that easily keeps them connected to their world.'
Other features, according to the company, include a three-megapixel camera and 3G for fast data transfer.
