HTC just announced another addition to its arsenal of slick smart devices. The HTC Diamond2 is a slimline touch-screen with hi-res WVGA display and an enhanced TouchFlo 3D interface.
Running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional but upgradeable to the new Windows Mobile 6.5, the Diamond2 has a five-megapixel auto-focus camera, 50 percent longer battery life, gravity sensor and ambient light sensor with a microSD slot for expandable memory up to 16GB.
The TouchFlo 3D interface has been tweaked to bring one-tap access to messaging, email, photos, music and weather to the top-level user menu, and also has larger touch-focus areas for a more accurate touch-screen. Like the just-announced HTC Touch Pro2, the Diamond2's approach to communication is ‘people-centric' - your history with a contact is all stored together, including voice, email and SMS.
The phone is being branded as straddling the business and consumer markets, and is optimised for internet with a zoom bar, HSDPA support and Push Internet, which keeps favourite websites ‘on-call' for super-fast loading and rendering.
Available in early Q2.
