Sony Ericsson has launched Entertainment Unlimited, a brand under which all-in-one entertainment phones will be launched.
The flagship phone of the brand will be shown under the concept name of Idou. Idou will run on what will become the Symbian Foundation operating system, the open-source OS from a Nokia-led collaboration of manufacturers and developers.
It will be a touch-screen multimedia phone boasting a 12.1-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, widescreen, Sony E's music download service PlayNow, and thousands of outside applications for its open OS. The phone will be able to connect to home entertainment systems like TV, PC and stereo (also presumably any PlayStations that are lying around?) and will also, to paraphrase Sesame Street, be all about sharing - music, location, data.
Idou will launch in the second half of 2009.
