The BlackBerry Storm (both 9500 and 9530) mobile phone has been the subject of a recent update. Now reaching the heady heights of v220.127.116.11, the update, according to the Engadget website, features a QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode which may provide some users with a more immediate access.
In addition to the keyboard, reports say that the new update also provides the phone with a greater stability. A further feature enhancement occurs when the phone is locked. Up until now, whenever the phone was locked the screen would light up, which defeats the purpose if the phone is locked when the screen is blank. That problem has now been fixed. Also, problems charging the phone have been amended.
There have been other reports that music and video playback can crash the phone, particularly the 9500, but it is still to be seen if the update corrects this problem.
