Android Cupcake, major update - more details emerge

The new, highly anticipated, update scheduled for all Android G1 users is almost here. In the meantime, more details have emerged.

To be known as Android Cupcake, the new update will feature a variety of new enhancements and additions. One of the major additions will be an onscreen keyboard that will pop up when an edit box is triggered.

According to the Talk Android website, other additions include a new, default notepad which will replace the current, standard utility that has often received criticism due to its less than glamorous façade.

Speaking about facades, windows, when opened and closed, will receive a new animation effect. In addition, a new Spare Parts application will include extra settings to change that very windows animation plus the font size, end-button behaviour and so on. Speaking of buttons, their appearance will be enhanced, somewhat, with extra shadow.
