Previously available on both the Apple iPhone and the Blackberry range of handsets, the mobile radio application, Flycast, is now available on the new Android G1 mobile phone. The content is offered as preprogrammed streams. However, you do have the ability to skip through the tracks on around 25% of the radio stations on offer.
"2009 will be a year of transition for broadcasting, as hundreds of millions of new 'smart devices' hit the streets, with incredible media consumption capabilities," noted FlyCast CEO Sam Abadir.
New features integrated into the basic system, according to the Mobile Crunch website, include the chance to instantly select your favorite broadcast program from the new 'What's On Now' option. In addition, with the FlyCast's StreamShift feature, you will be able to tune in to a broadcast at any point, ensuring that you do not miss any part of a show.
Flycast also features Facebook, AAC+ and Windows Media support.
