Nokia's first touch-screen device is set to hit stores before the end of the month. The Nokia 5800, also known as the Tube, will be available exclusively from 10am on Friday 23 January from the Nokia Regent Street store and the flagship stores at Heathrow Terminal 5 as well as from Nokia's online store. Customers can in fact pre-order the handset now either in stores or online. Nokia has slapped a £249 (including VAT) price tag on the device, SIM free.
As well as being Nokia's first ever touch-screen device, the 5800 sports an excellent 3.2-inch screen, excellent music and video credentials and one click access from Nokia's internet services, collectively known as Ovi. The touch-screen itself features a tactile "buzztouch" feedback response leaving you in no doubt your command has been recognised. Other features include a 3.2-megapixel camera complete with Carl Zeiss lens and 3.5mm headset port meaning you can plug in your own set of headphones.
