Virgin Mobile says it will provide the Windows instant messaging service ito new and exisitng customers in either pre-loaded or downloadable form. The service will then be free for six months.
Virgin Mobile's instant messaging service launches on four handsets: the Samsung U600, Samsung G600, Nokia 6300 and Sony Ericsson W910i. However, the W910i is currently the only handset which comes pre-loaded with the service. Virgin Mobile says it will be adding new compatible handsets in the New Year.
There has been a major boom in mobile social networking phones and services this year, with the launch of 3's exclusive INQ1 Facebook phone, T-Mobile's G1 Google phone and Vodafone's BlackBerry Storm, which enables access to a multitude of networking sites via a large clickable touchscreen interface.
