O2 customers are being invited to pre-register their interest in RIM's latest BlackBerry device. The BlackBerry Curve 8900, as has become expected from RIM devices, excels on email, messaging, personal organisation and other multimedia applications. It is also the thinnest BlackBerry to date, measuring at just 13.5mm thick. Consumers will also be able to enjoy onboard Wi-Fi, GPS with BlackBerry Maps, a 3.2-megapixel camera, complete with auto focus, digital zoom and flash, while content will be visible on a vivid 2.4-inch HVGA+ display.
Rumours were rife that the BlackBerry Curve 8900, which bears a striking resemblance to the BlackBerry Bold, was going to only be available exclusively through The Carphone Warehouse. This has proven to be unfounded with O2 customers able to pre-register their interest in the device from 10 December and pre-order from December 22nd all from the O2 website, www.o2.co.uk/blackberry. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 will be available for from free to £234 depending on tariffs from 5 January 2009. It is also known that it will be available on T-Mobile, though the operator is yet to disclose pricing details.
