Dell enters the mobile phone arena

Dell, one of the leading manufacturers on PC computers, has entered the mobile phone arena with its first smartphone release. Called the Traveler 619 GPS, from Pharos, the new phone provides a full QWERTY keyboard that sits underneath a 2.8in touchscreen displaying VGA resolution. You also get WiFi for distant connection to the Internet plus Bluetooth for short range connections to headsets and the like.

A built in camera has been included. However, the specification is not too remarkable, coming in at just 2MP for recording pictures and video. Running on top of the popular Windows Mobile 6 operating system, the Traveler 619 comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Outlook Mobile (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Inbox), Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, Internet Explorer Mobile, Picture, Notes, ActiveSync, Calculator, Game, Voice Recorder, MSN Messenger and Media Player 10.

The mobile provides you with at least 4 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time.
