The Orange mobile TV-over Unique service enables customers to watch high-definition TV (HDTV) over either a 3G network or via a Wi-Fi connection with the Orange Livebox or an Orange hot spot.
Orange is launching the service in France in December with two new Orange Unique devices, the LG KF757 amd the Sony Ericsson G705u. The service requires a UMA 3G handset, which ensures automatic switching between Wi-Fi and 3G network coverage, depending on where the phone is being used. The 20 HDTV channels are available with Livebox Wi-Fi coverage, while over 60 TV channels are available with 3G coverage.
Orange says its range of Unique devices, which all feature UMA technology, use an Easy Pairing solution to simplify connection to the Orange Livebox which now features added bandwidth for faster connection speeds.
