Motorola has unveiled the world's first mobile that has a circular display. The Motorola AURA has a flip-blade design that can be swivelled open to reveal an aluminium keypad. The AURA may be lacking in specifications, with a two-megapixel camera and EDGE capabilities.
However, this handset is all about style and, judging by the press shots, the Aura oozes polish. The circular display, which was apparently inspired by luxury watches, boasts up to 16 million colours and a 300dpi resolution. In addition, the display itself is capped with a Grade 1, 62-carat sapphire crystal lens, making it virtually scratch-resistant. Furthermore, the front piece of the handset is said to take nearly two weeks to create, due to its carefully crafted design.
The Motorola AURA is expected to be available before the end of the year, though no pricing or network details are available as of yet.
Motorola AURA specs:
Camera: Two-megapixel, fixed-focus
Standby time: 400 hours
