Wayfinder extends Sony Ericsson agreement

Sony Ericsson looks to continue its focus on navigation with the news that they have extended their agreement with location provider Wayfinder. Selected Sony Ericsson handsets will come with the Wayfinder Navigator application pre-embedded on the device that will enable consumers to download Tele Atlas-based maps for more than 70 countries direct to their mobile phone. In addition, Sony Ericsson phones that sport built-in GPS will be able to enjoy full navigation capabilities, including lane and sign post information, either as a 12 month regional, continental European or lifetime navigation offering.

Wayfinder and Sony Ericsson has enjoyed a fruitful partnership of late, with a three-month trial of Wayfinder's Navigator application included on the W760 Walkman and C702 Cyber-shot phones and the soon to be launched C905. What's more, Sony Ericsson P1i users have already been able to make the most of a one year license.
