HTC is reported to be about to announce the forthcoming release of a new mobile phone, the HTC Touch HD, which will feature the ability to view high resolution images. The graphics resolution, known as WVGA, packs in a mighty 800 x 480 pixels. Pushing that lot around the screen is a Qualcomm 7201A processor running at a swift 528Mhz. That lies upon a 512Mb ROM with 256Mb of RAM in support plus 32Mb on the processor itself to increase speed and efficiency.
Reported to be a touchscreen phone, according to the MoDaCo website, the handset will apparently run on the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. There are also rumours that data transfer will be taken care of with a fast HSDPA. Other observers say that Bluetooth 2.0+EDR will be included too.
No official release date has thus been revealed but reports say that the handset should be out in time for Christmas.
