Made from a combination of carbon fibre, titanium, polished glass and stainless steel, the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte is a light yet robust handset. As with previous handsets in the Arte range, fashion is at the core of the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte with 3D patterns and background images that automatically change depending on what time of the day it is, and Nokia has used an anti-fingerprint coating to help reduce any smudges or marks.
The slider handset also features Nokia's turn-to-mute silencing mechanism, which means incoming calls can be silenced by simply turning the phone over, screen-side down, along with the tap-for-time feature that allows the user to tap the steel surface under the OLED screen to reveal the clock. Other features include a 3.2-megapixel camera complete with auto-focus, 3G capabilities and 4GB of internal memory, The handset will also come boxed with a Bluetooth touch-sensitive volume control headset, stylish desk stand and a leather carrying case.
The Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte will be available in Q3 2008 with an estimated retail price of £870 Sim-free (ex VAT).
