The new Levano P960 mobile phone features heightened security options with the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner. The scanner, created via Altrua Technologies, is the very first fingerprint biometric device to ever appear on a mobile phone and has been adopted as an alternative to having to remember and key in a password for the likes of address book information, call history and text messages. It also includes the very latest adaptive capacitance and neural matching technology and draws very little power and memory to do its job.
According to the Business Wire website, "We evaluated a number of potential fingerprint solutions for this project and found that Atrua delivered the superior combination of features and performance for mobile phones. Because of the Atrua sensor's small size, we were able to fit it conveniently on the edge of the P960," stated Paul Wu, General Manager of Lenovo Mobile's Product Department.
