The new G'zOne Boulder ruggedised mobile phone has been announced for use in harsh environments. The new phone has been constructed to military specifications which means that you can immerse it in water, freeze it, heat it and even expose it to solar radiation without showing any problems or, at least, it will put up a struggle.
It also includes an application called Field Force Manager which allows a push to talk option that allows businesses to monitor and communicate with mobile field workers.
According to the Mobilewhack website, another application included within the handset, the VZ Navigator, provides turn-by-turn directions with audio cues and up to 14 million items of interest within. Another included feature, VCAST Music, allows DRM free downloads of music via the Rhapsody service. Which can then be stored on a microSD card. The slot can handle cards up to 8Gb large.
A built-in camera is also include but only up to 1.3MP. No price details have yet been mooted for the UK market.
