BIC has collaborated with Orange France to produce a mobile phone that, when bought, is ready to use.
BIC is a well known name in the field of pens. It sells a range of throw-away and more upmarket pens. This is the first time the company has ventured into the mobile phone market in such a visual manner.
The mobile phone has not actually been created solely by the company but was, in fact, created via Alcatel. It is a pre-paid model that is reported to be easy to use and ready to go. Featuring a precharged battery - that initial charge-up for any new phone delays normal operations by a few hours at least - the phone is also supplied with 60 free minutes on the accompanying SIM card.
No announcements have yet been made regarding UK distribution or price but the European price is 49 Euros.
