O2 unveils iPhone 3G price plan

With the iPhone 3G set to go on sale at 8.02am this Friday 11 July, O2 has unveiled its various tariff options for both the 8GB and 16GB models. The 8GB version will be available for free to customers who choose either the £45 or £75 per month tariffs, while the device will also be able to be purchased for £99 on a £30 or £35 per month tariff. The 16GB model of the Apple iPhone 3G will be available for £159 on £30 and £35 per month tariffs, £59 on the £45 per month tariff and free on the £75 per month tariff.

For those customers that want to upgrade from their existing 2G iPhone to a 3G version, they simply need to re-sign to one of the new 18 month contracts. If they have a friend or family member who is an existing O2 Pay Monthly or business customer, they will then be able to insert their own O2 SIM card into the old iPhone. However, in order for the phone to work, they will need to buy the necessary Bolt Ons, or purchase an iPhone Pay & Go SIM card from 11 July that offers unlimited data and unlimited Wi-Fi access to The Cloud and BT Openzone hotspots for £10 per month.

In addition, O2 has announced that the iPhone 3G will be available to their prepay customers in time for the Christmas rush, though pricing details are yet to be confirmed. For further information, visit www.o2.co.uk/iPhone.
