The new Sharp SH906i features a Synaptic, ClearPad touchscreen. The handset includes finger input character recognition capabilities. The technology is especially useful for those countries which feature more complex alphabets. Capacitive sensing-enabled text entry allows you to access and control any number of applications and menus on the Sharp mobile phone in an intuitive manner. Synaptics also have a growing gesture input library including a flick and pinch motion.
The new handset includes a 3in screen displaying 16.7 million colours which makes it ideal for video use. The WGA resolution screen spans 480 x 854 pixels. Based on the Symbian OS, the phone includes GPS, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0, USB, an image editor and document reader plus TV support and music and video players. It even includes a barcode reader.
The mobile phone is only, at the moment, available in Japan. No distribution information or price information has been released for the UK.
