Nokia has posted a patent for a video phone that many observers say will be a future N85. This future design appears to follow an on-going development to create mobile phone niches. That is, to target an advanced feature and develop that to appeal to a particular customer sector.
In this case, the thought is that the optical facilities for this particular design will be developed to such an extent that the principle feature will, in fact, be as a video recorder. The reasoning behind that thought is that mobile phone cameras have now reached such a point that they now exhibit the same quality as bone-fide cameras. Whereas, the video facilities of mobile phone have yet to receive full technological attention.
According to The Nokia Blog, thoughts are that the handset will sport a 5MP or even an 8MP camera along with a WQVGA screen.
At this early stage, there are no thoughts regarding released dates or prices.
