Alton Towers, the popular family destination for fairground rides and other attractions, has declared a ban on all PDAs for the length of the summer holidays on its property.
The scheme is, reportedly, a trial measure that, if successful, will apparently become permanent. The crux of the measure to ‘force' parents to leave their work behind and have a good time. Presumably so they will be able to fix their attentions more on the facilities supplied by Alton Towers and concentrate more on spending their supply of cash.
The PDA Free Zone will be patrolled by, yes, PDA Police who will wander the grounds of Alton Towers and, if they find an adult using a PDA, will request them to take the offending item to a PDA drop-off point, which will confiscate it until that person leaves the premises.
Divisional Director for the Alton Towers Resort Russell Barnes said that, "What we have here is the ultimate short break location where every member of the family can unwind and have fun. We feel it's so important for parents and kids to focus on nothing more than having the best possible time, we are prepared to take drastic action to ensure that parents really leave their work behind!"
