Sharp has released its new Disney phone, the DM002SH, in Japan. This is an intriguing handset because, although this clamshell has the Disney stamp on it, it is not made from plastic, it is not coated with pictures of Dumbo or Winnie The Pooh - it doesn't even sing out a song from the Jungle Book when you open up the handset. In fact, the diamond-patterned outer shell takes a rather more mature take on styling.
This is no ‘mickey mouse' mobile phone, either, in terms of features. It includes full 3G capabilities with HSDPA support and holds two displays: a 2.6 inch internal WVGA with a 0.5-inch OLED display on the outside.
Other features include a 2MP camera, infrared, Bluetooth, a microSD slot and 50Mb of memory built-in - it weighs 111g. It even features mobile TV. Out next month in Japan, the handset has yet to receive any information regarding distribution in Europe. No price was mooted either.
