PixSense has announced Media Map, an application that automatically records the geographic location and the time that both photos and video were taken by the phone of the subscriber.
According to Slashphone, when the location information is captured by the mobile phone, that information is then transferred to an online interactive map. It is also added to a gallery that the subscriber maintains which can be further managed later. Users can complete the images and collate them into an album which can then be sent to friends and family.
R. Paul Singh, president and CEO of PixSense commented that, "I can recapture every memory of every photo and video I took on a recent trip abroad, by mapping out each step of my trip. This allows me to visualize my travels in a new, interactive way."
PixSense are due to show the new application at the Qualcomm 2008 conference. Pricing and distribution has yet to be finalised.
