Samsung has again teamed up with audio experts Bang & Olufsen for the launch of their next music phone. The handset itself is a dual slider - pop the screen up to reveal the phones keypad, slide it down to reveal the phones speaker which uses Bang & Olufsen's ICEpower audio technology. Music is very much at the core of the F400, with the FindMusic application identifying and recognising different music, a dedicated key to access all your music, as well as Samsung's SmartBass system complete with full digital amplifier. Samsung claims that you will also be able to sync the F400 with your PC's Windows Media Player, while there is also a built-in FM radio.
However, according to its spec sheet, the Samsung F400's no slouch when it comes to other features. As well as a three-megapixel camera, the phone also boasts HSDPA speeds of up to 3.6Mbps, which should allow quick music downloads, while the F400 can support memory cards of up to 4GB.
In conjunction with the launch of the F400, Samsung are giving people the opportunity to have their music form part of the radio and online advertising campaign. A microsite will soon be launched where budding artists will be able to upload their music which will in turn be voted for by the general public, with the winning entry being used in the ad campaign.
The Samsung F400 is expected to start shipping in mid-June by O2, Orange, Virgin, The Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.
