Customers that sign up to BT's new broadband package will receive a free internet-capable smartphone in addition to broadband in their home. From £23.99 per month, BT Total Broadband Anywhere offers a choice of two HTC smartphones, the HTC S620 and the HTC S710. Both devices, known as BT ToGo, when in range of a Wi-Fi hotspot will automatically connect providing unlimited internet at broadband speeds as well as cheaper calls through BT Broadband Talk. When a Wi-Fi hotspot is unavailable, customers will be entitled to a standard 10MB monthly download allowance. In addition, BT Total Broadband includes 50 call minutes and 50 texts on any network at any time, though larger bundles are also available.
Each BT ToGo handset includes the BT Snap & Send function that allows any photos taken with the handset to be transferred to the secure personal online BT Digital Vault where they can be stored and shared with family and friends. Each household can purchase five additional BT ToGo handsets for £29.99 each as well as an additional £5 per month for each handset. However, all users will share the same tariff, while the monthly line rental for broadband at home will also be an additional £10.75 per month.
