iHome iP99, the first iPhone clock radio

To be launched on June 1st, in the USA, the new iHome iP99 is the first clock radio to be specifically created for use with the Apple iPhone. It allows you to play music from the iPhone itself, via its in-built speakers (known as Reason8s which pack 10 watts of power), whilst still being able to receive calls.

When docked, the iPhone will also charge, revealed PRNewswire. The unit features an AM/FM radio, an alarm buzzer and a remote that will control the iPhone's functions. As you may have guessed, the unit is also compatible with an iPod.

Check out the iHome website for more details. A UK release date and price have yet to be announced but distribution of iHome products is normally pretty good so don't expect too many problems in grabbing one. For example, any John Lewis store should stock it when it's released.
